Square Me, Round World by Chelsea Luker

This book is a great way to introduce discussion of different aspects of being neurodivergent with your child or class. Written by an Autistic ADHDer Psychologist, each short story covers experiences of feeling different and trying to fit in; such as trying to make friends, masking, sensory differences and needing to move your body a lot. Each story has a positive message about being different, whether it’s learning about self-care, finding your flock or realising that there are people in the world who appreciate you for who you are with all your sparkles.

“…Oliver knew that although different was different,

different was not bad.

Different was not less.

It was just different.

And sometimes different felt okay.

Because sometimes different is exactly what we need."

A great book for Stages 1-3 kids and ready for loan from JST library now!
